Lindyl Lanham, DSH-P, B.S. Spec. Ed., HD(R.Hom.)
Lindyl Lanham, DSH-P, B.S.Sp.Ed.
Lindyl began her interest in special education as an honor graduate of the University of Texas Bachelor of Science in Special Education program. She majored in the education of visually handicapped children, studying with Dr. Natalie Barraga, now seen as a true innovator in the field of vision therapy. At the Texas School for the Blind’s Deaf-Blind Annex in the early 1970s she worked with many multiply handicapped children who were deaf, blind, or autistic, or a combination of the three, victims of a rubella epidemic in Texas in the late 1960s. Later she taught visually and multiply challenged children in Clear Creek Independent School District, and then Spring Branch Independent School District, where she and another UT graduate developed an award-winning program for the district’s visually challenged. In this setting, again, she worked with many children with autism as well as other diagnosed disorders. She retired from teaching professionally after 8 years, to raise and homeschool her two sons through high school. Lindyl’s interest in alternatives was driven by her mother who turned her own colon cancer around, using a fully alternative approach from the Livingston-Wheeler Immunology Clinic in San Diego, CA. The approach allowed her to live out her life as a cancer survivor and counselor for an additional 16 years beyond the life-expectation given to her by her oncologist and surgeon in 1985. It was her mother’s death from side-effects of radiation treatment 16 years earlier that drew Lindyl into homeopathy. She began studying and working with Cindy Griffin after witnessing her mother's pain-free, drug-free death from cancer managed with homeopathy.
In 2003, Lindyl and Cindy Griffin officially joined forces as they incorporated Houston Center of Homeopathy, Inc., and together opened Homeopathy Center of Houston at its current location. Aiding special needs children has always been one of Lindyl’s passions in life and she has limited her practice to that end. Since opening, the center has grown to include 4 practitioners, a large office staff and has recently doubled its physical facility in order to better serve a growing client base that reaches around the world. For the past several years, Lindyl and Cindy have spoken at national and international conferences including those focused on homeopathy, autism, and lyme disease.
Outside of the practice, Lindyl enjoys spending time collecting vintage Hawaiiana, and listening to Hawaiian slack key guitar music – preferably on a Hawaiian beach.
