Cindy Griffin is a homeopathic consultant, author, speaker and educator. She became interested in homeopathy through her own physical and emotional healing experience while she was a Masters level psychology student. When an opportunity came for her to study homeopathy extensively through a local practitioner she discovered her gifts and talents for homeopathy. Cindy began her teaching career in 1978, as a high school and junior high school choral music director. She "retired" from the profession in 1979 to marry and rear her children. After her husband's death in 1994 to cancer (treated conventionally) she realized she needed healing for herself. She sought out homeopathic treatment for grief and for a chronic sinus infection that refused to yield to conventional antibiotic treatment. Within 2 days of her first visit to a homeopath, she was completely cured of that infection and it has never returned. That was in 1994, and she has been learning, practicing, writing and teaching about homeopathy ever since. In 1998 she opened her own private practice with family savings and a desire to help people. In 2003 Lindyl Lanham joined her practice and they created Homeopathy Center of Houston. Since that time the practice has continued to grow, with its primary focus on working with children on the autism spectrum through the development of their exclusive Houston Homeopathy Method.
After starting an Affiliated Study Group under National Center of Homeopathy in 1998, some of her students began asking for more in-depth teaching of homeopathy. By 1999 Cindy had created Houston School of Homeopathy, teaching beginning classes in homeopathic self-care. In 2001 she added a two-year practitioner level foundational course and graduated its first class in May, 2003. She has developed a curriculum in foundational studies for practitioners which will be taught in Houston, Texas. She has developed a two-day curriculum for acute illness and injury for consumers, and a two-year curriculum in the Houston Homeopathy Method of Advanced Sequential-Integrative Homeopathy, as well as a 1 year clinical internship program.
Cindy has a full-time private homeopathic practice where she has developed a broad following of both clients and students due to her desire to help others heal gently, completely, and to their greatest potential. She specializes in the chronic health problems found in autism spectrum disorders in all their many manifestations and facets. It is through her practice that she has gained keen insights into a new view of illness, through the filter of the Houston Homeopathy Method. Cindy holds an honorary Diploma of Sequential Homeopathy - Practitioner Level from Houston School of Homeopathy, for which she developed the entire 4 year curriculum, and the Diploma of the Institute of Homeopathy from British Institute of Homeopathy. She is a practitioner member of the National Center for Homeopathy, and a member of the Texas Society of Homeopathy, and is Board Certified in Integrative Health by the American Association of Integrative Medicine.
In addition to her practice and teaching, Cindy is, most importantly, the mother of three talented and busy adult children. She resides in Houston, Texas with one college-aged daughter and son (who recovered from Asperger’s Syndrome through the Houston Homeopathy Method), as well as an Australian Shepherd, and three cats, who are all treated primarily with homeopathy. She is an accomplished vocal musician, and when there are a few quiet moments, loves to play mountain dulcimer, hammer dulcimer, ukulele, guitar and other folk instruments.
